Present distribution: From Sierra Leone east to eastern Zaire and south to northern Angola.
Behaviour: Preferred habitat: dense primary and secondary forests. For all other data, see Rotflankenducker
Population status: Stable.

Shoulder height: 45-55 cm
Gestation period: 7 1/2-8 months
Maximum age : 10-15 years in captivity
Trophy: Record SCI: 13 1/8 score, 1971 Liberia, C.J. MCELROY. RW’s: 4 1/2″, 1985 Cameroon, PETER ZOBEL; average 2 1/2″.
Hunting methods: With beaters and dogs, from a hide, with nets.
Remarks: Females also have horns. 2 and also 4 subspecies are recorded, but omitted here due to unreliable classification. Very little known about biology; more information required.
